Would recommend the Wiki Issues project to the New Politics group and have other Issues groups contact the New Politics people to get a pro con page for their issue.

This has to be done so well that USA.CAN becomes famous for it Process must be so simple that anyone running out to vote can fire up their computer and Google on USA.CAN, print out their Issue and read it on the way to the polls.

Later on, when we have it finnessed, USA.CAN could make an editorial opinion equally famous for explaining why USA.CAN chose their position. Or could have on-line USA.CAN polling.

Content of pro con page must be vetted for accuracy and impartiality, maybe blogging could have an agree/disagree/neither agree nor disagree moderator.

1. I joined the groups I have interest in, but will need the emails in a digest or will become overwhelmed.

2. Need a First American site for Native issues. In Canada is called First Nation, in USA is generally called First Americans like it was on mybarackobama pages.

3. Sandy had told me about a nonpartisan Wiki project for New Politics study group, providing factual non-partisan info on issues. Its a great idea, maybe League of Women Voters and/or other like-minded org could partner with us.

4. Need to develop on-line training programs with post-tests and even a certificate of completion page to do different things, small bites, not immense, intimidating, time consuming courses. Like one to participate in whitehouse.gov Twitter. Another to blog on USA.CAN. Etc.

5. Phone call is wonderfully simple and could be a fabulous tool but must be managed by one person who stays on speakerphone as others come and go. May want to post a monthly calendar that shows which day of week/time State groups meet vs Natl vs Issues via open- mike conference-call. Reliable, regular. Could do Natl/State back-to-back, 30 min each, followed by 30 min Issues. If one doesnt make it in at call time they can write in on COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS that would be monitored and moderated by Bruce or his rep during that 1 1/2hour period, every Sunday eve. Calendar would show conference call times with scheduled moderators or their appointees.

6. What was our official response to OFA's House Parties to discuss healthcare policy happening this month- did we support it by signing up to offer trans-partisan Town Hall meetings or house parties? Should we try to offer an on-line Wiki pro and con approach to each recommended method? Would we control the content or should it be side-by-side pro and con moderated by a cool headed, well informed, trans partisan USA.CAN member?

1. When I look myself up under IL I do not come up. If I look myself up under Elsie I come up under Des Plaines Illinois. I am also signed up under Alaska, but cannot bring myself up under an Alaska list at all, yet when I try to rejoin Alaska it states I am already a member of Alaska.

2. Need a web designer/graphic artist to put the website's functional components into visually attractive format. Website is fun and practical but has no eye candy, which makes it appear homemade, less professional, more fly-by-night.

3. Wednesdays are traditionally used by many faith practices. Sunday nights sound better to me.

4. This is v-e-r-y important. Pretend you dont know anyone and listen to the recorded joint ("open-mike") telephone call. Then write to me at elsie.courtice@gmail.com and tell me wht you think.How many people may have hung up in dismay?

I am not sure why you would be getting an error message on the "MyBO" site -- but I suggest you go to http://my.barackobama.com, and sign in with your email address and password. Then find the group to which you are subscribed, and click the option to unsubscribe. That's what I would do, if I wanted to unsubscribe to a MyBO email listserv.

I understand that "not everything is working yet" but the unsubscribe link should be. Each time I receive a list serv message and try to follow the unsubscribe link it takes me to the Obama site. This is a note to those who are not interested in utilizing the Lightpages spirituality features on this site.

It is my understanding that when Bruce has usa-can.net all set and running, then CAN will run on its own. And that CAN members will be able to choose if they wish to continue with Lightpages features or not, and which ones.

These features are, in my opinion, really great and the people on Lightpages are wonderful people to have involved.

You will probably hear more about this later.

By the way, there has never been any problem with any member or admin on this usa-can.net site.

The USA.CAN site sets a high priority on, among other things, promoting harmony as well as community-supportive actions.

The Obama/Democratic National Committee "Organizing for America" Listening Tour came through Santa Barbara last night -- we are doing everything possible to build connections between the "spirit of real-world political organizing" -- and this beautiful mystical resonant spirit that is being pioneered by the women's circle movement....
